  So, let's turn to Luke 21 to hear what Jesus said about the existing SECOND TEMPLE and what will happen in the END DAYS as planned by God Himself.  Jesus said to the world, "No man knows that day or the hour that the end will come, but we will know the season when we are in it.

Luke 21: 10-11 is where Jesus is asked bout the SECOND TEMPLE and answers the question.

Luke 21:5-6, - Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, “As for what you see here, (this Temple) the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”
 This is what the SECOND TEMPLE looked like.

Notice that it involves much of the top of Mount Zion.

How then can the Jews take control over the top of the sacred mountain while the Arabs have control?

We are about to find out
 

And, in April of 70 A.D., the SECOND TEMPLE was destroyed totally by Titus and the Roman soldiers.  It was because ROME controlled Jerusalem, but the Jews began to rebel against Roman rule starting four years earlier.

"As for what you see here, (this Temple) the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.” - Jesus

Then, His apostles asked Jesus, "When will the end come?"

Luke 21:8-9- "Jesus replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."

Wars and uprisings have happened for centuries, so Jesus begins to get more specific about what will take place just before the "GREAT TRIBULATION PERIOD of seven years begins to unfold.
