Genesis 17:1 -"And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations."

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. 22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham."

Sarah laughed at God's words that SHE would bear a son and call him Isaac because she was almost 100 years old! 

Instead, Sarah told Abraham to have sex with her Egyptian handmaiden names Hagar so he did.  She conceived and had a son whom she named Ishmael....an Arab son.

It wasn't until 13 years later that Sarah actually conceived and had the son that God promised them in the first place...Isaac.

Isaac would later have a son named JACOB, and God would call Jacob "ISRAEL".  Jacob would have twelve sons....now known as the "TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL."  so ISRAEL began with the son of Isaac....named JACOB.

To the right is the story of how Arabs and Jews developed hatred toward one another ever since Abraham and Sarah failed to trust God at His word that Sarah would have a son...and she would name him Isaac........

Abraham - father of many nations

Sarah began to hate her handmaiden because Hagar flaunted her Egyptian Arab son Ishmael so she had Abraham take Hagar and her Arab son out to the desert and there he abandoned them.

But, God promised that Abraham's descendents would flourish and prosper so God blessed Ishmael and the Arabs as much as He blessed al of the Jews that descended from Isaac and Jacob.

BUT, God also said this in Genesis 3:15 - "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed..."

In plain English, God said there will ALWAYS be hatred between the Arab descendents of Ishmael and the Jewish descendents of Isaac.
